We have learnt that Arthur Coulson, one time caretaker at the College, died on Thursday 5th November 2009. The funeral is at the Cambridge City Crematorium, West Chapel, at 12 noon on Thursday 19th November

We have been informed, by his wife Barbara, of the death, in his 90th year, of Ronald Frank Maskell (31-37) in June 2009. Ronald and Barbara had been married for 38 years and, since 1997, been living in a retirement village in Ontario.

We have been informed of the death on 6th October of Dr Shaun Wylie (Staff 1973-80)
Shaun was a wartime code breaker at Bletchley Park. After the war he was a fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge and worked alongside the astronomer Fred Hoyle. He was known as a leading expert in topology (the manner in which shapes stretch and deform) and when James Watson and Francis Crick were coming up with the design of DNA as a double helix they sought his opinion about whether the two helices could move apart or would need to unravel. From 1958 he was chief mathematician at GCHQ in Cheltenham. In 1973 he retired and taught Greek and Mathematics at the school until 1980.

Malcom Race wrotes to tell us: "I regret to tell you that my friend and fellow OC John Nightingale (1942-1949) died on 26 August.
The funeral service at Robin Hood crematorium, Birmingham, on 7 September was attended by about 200 people, reflecting the high regard in which he was held by his friends and colleagues and the great service he had given to many organisations." We have been informed, by Lila Wilson, of the death of John Wilson (49-54). John was also known as ‘Pecker’, ‘Tug’ and ‘Ginger’. After a very short illness John died in hospital on the 10th December 2008.

We have learned with sadness of the death of Ron Davies ( 1950-58 ), a staunch Old Cantab and long-time member of our committee, on Thursday 12th February. The funeral took place at 3 O'clock on Thursday 26th, February 2009 in the West Chapel of Cambridge Crematorium. Our sympathies and condolences to his wife and family

We are saddened to learn of the death of Silvio Fella [1955-60], brother of Ray [50 - 58]. A fellow OC remembers him thus: "Many... would not have known Silvio but he was a great player on the wing .He tackled way above his weight and scored the last but one try against Cambridge at Granchester road when we were still playing them regularly. We won! He also provided the Club teas after matches from his restaurant (Copper Kettle).Silvio and two of his brothers were friends of mine at Junior school and later Senior school and finally he has been a good friend and neighbour over the last few years and will be sadly missed." ====================================================================== Sad to learn of the death of Mr Sydney Gordon Revell 1937-1942, who passed away on the 27th June 2008. We have been informed of the death, in February 2008, of E.A.H.Key. (34-39)
After leaving school he joined, in 1940, the Fleet Air Arm and after the war published a book, ‘The Friendly Squadron’, about his wartime experiences.
After gaining a degree at Oxford, where he played rugby for the Greyhounds, the Oxford 2nd XV, he read for a post-graduate degree at St.Catherine’s College, Cambridge.
In 1949 he joined Tiffins School in Kingston, Surrey, teaching Geography and acting as Sports Coach and Senior Careers Master. He was head of the Upper School and for the last sixteen years, until he retired in 1984, Deputy Head Master.
