Stephen Allen writes: I have just learned that Peter has been diagnosed with an aggressive Stage 4 Bowel Cancer which has spread so that, sadly, chemotherapy is no longer an option.
He has recently been discharged from Addenbrookes to Etheldred House Clay Street Histon. I have just spoken to him on the ‘phone. He would welcome visitors but it must be said he sounds very frail although as interested to know how I was getting on as discussing his own plight; typical Peter.
Etheldred House has open visiting hours.
For those not around at the time, Peter was Captain of Cantabs RC in 1971 and again, jointly with Malcolm Collins, in 1972, stroking the first boat.
It is with sadness that we have now heard that Peter passed peacefully away early in the morning of Wednesday 2nd November. Funeral details are unknown, but will be published here if and when they become available.
