Air/Comdre A.C. Impey 1947 1955 13th January 2015 A past President of the Old Cantabrigian Society. Died after a very long illness on the 13th January 2015. Funeral at the Chapel of Ease, Bernard Green Hammerton, N.Yorks. at 2.00pm on 26th January 2015 with a private family cremation on the 27th January. Family flowers only but donations to Diabetes UK. On leaving school, prior to going to Cambridge University, Adrian Charles Impey spent 2 years in the RAF doing national service when, after training as a pilot he decided not to attend university but stay in the RAF where he rose to the rank of Air Commodore. In his final year at the school he rowed in the School 1st VIII, which earned their oars rowing as Cantabs 1st boat in the CRA bumping races. noreply@oldcantabrigiansociety.org.uk

Mr C.S. Ball 1945 1953 We are sad to pass on news of the death of Colin Ball, a staunch member of the OCS and long-time committee member . Colin rowed as a pupil of the Cambridgeshire High School for Boys, and was a member of the first school crew to win blades, in the town bumps in 1952. He went on to become the School Captain of Boats, and club Vice Captain. After school, Colin went into teaching and spent much of his career at St Bede's School, where he was a founding teacher in 1962 and was deputy head between 1970 and 1988. He had active involvement with the Church and Scouting as well as the Old Cantabrigian Society and was a kind, caring and witty man. He died on 6th May 2020 after a short stay in hospital. koljewel@hotmail.com
